New York City boasts some of the nation’s most recognizable landmarks and famous sites. From the spectacular Statue of Liberty to the gardens and fountains of Central Park, the Big Apple has something for everyone. Those who are boarding flights to New York may wish to add one or more of the following attractions to their itinerary:

Museum of Modern Art

New York’s Museum of Modern Art is a unique museum unlike any other in the Empire State. It is the first American institution of its kind that is entirely dedicated to contemporary art. The establishment is home to an impressive number of modern art collections, some of which contain architectural pieces, sculptures and films, as well as paintings. Multi-media presentations are also scheduled at the museum on a regular basis, and such presentations are given on a wide variety of topics.

Empire State Building

Most people would agree that there is no better view of the Big Apple than the one that can be seen from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building. Here, one can view an outstanding 360-degree panorama of the city’s skyline. Anyone visiting this amazing attraction should remember to bring a camera, as many photo opportunities will present themselves. There is also a cafe and a unique gift shop on the top floor, making it a great location to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the streets below.

Statue of Liberty

The United States was presented with the Statue of Liberty at the time of the French Revolution. The gift was meant to symbolize France’s friendship with America. Throughout the centuries however, this spectacular landmark has become a sign of welcome to individuals arriving in the United States in search of a better life. Recently repaired and refurbished, this well-loved attraction looks better than ever, and should definitely be placed on one’s must-see list.

Times Square

Anyone who has visited the Big Apple would agree that Time’s Square is well-deserving of the 25 million visitors it receives each year. Tourists can choose to enjoy a fine meal, as the Times Square neighborhood is home to an impressive number of 5-star restaurants. After dinner, one can head down the Great White Way to indulge in a Broadway show. Visitors can also choose to simply spend an evening taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling square while enjoying a refreshing cocktail.

American Museum of Natural History

Opened in 1869, the American Museum of Natural History is now regarded as one of the world’s most important and culturally significant museums. From humble beginnings, the museum has grown to boast some of the world’s most famous collections. In addition to a variety of classic displays, the establishment is home to a revolving series of new exhibits which are rotated regularly. More than just a museum, the building also features rooms that are dedicated to lectures, book receptions, and even living art performances. Regardless of the activities and attractions one chooses, he or she will never forget a visit to the City That Never Sleeps.

NYC is another location that is just plain fun. Totally different than my previous recommendations of Hawaii or Kenya, of course, but perfectly good times can be had almost anywhere!
